What This Notice Covers
This is a direct recruitment for permanent teaching positions in arts, languages, sciences, law, management, education, music and engineering departments of the university, which was formerly known as Kanpur University. The notice is unusual in one respect: although the process is described as online only, the university also insists on a posted hard copy, so many candidates lose out not on eligibility but on missing the second step.
Qualifications, pay scales and other conditions for these posts will follow UGC Regulations 2018, AICTE Regulations 2019 and the rules of the U.P. State Government. Reservation is applied as per U.P. Government norms, and the notice does not list a separate pay scale or age limit for the advertised posts.

| Component | Assistant Professor | Associate Professor | Professor |

| Phase II: Assessment of teaching skills | 20 | - | - |

Assistant Professor
- The Basic Academic Score and API Score is calculated as per UGC Regulations 2018, Appendix II, Table 3A.

- A Consolidated Merit List is prepared from the combined academic score and written test score, and a suitable number of candidates is shortlisted for Phase II.
- Phase II has two parts for every discipline except Music: assessment of teaching skills through a presentation, including the ability to take online classes on a computer, and the interview. In Music, shortlisted candidates must first qualify a music skill assessment test.
- Final selection depends on teaching skill and interview performance together, with at least 50 percent of that total, which is 15 marks.
Associate Professor and Professor
- Selection is in two parts: shortlisting and interview. The Basic Academic Score and API Score is calculated as per UGC Regulations 2018, Appendix II, Table 2, and research paper weightage is given only for publications considered for NIRF.

- Candidates get at least seven days to raise objections after the cumulative score is published.
- In Music, a shortlisted candidate must clear the music skill assessment test before being called for interview.
Final Result and Waiting List
A duly constituted Selection Committee conducts the interviews and submits the final result in a sealed envelope to the Vice Chancellor. For direct recruitment to teaching positions, a waiting list of not more than two candidates is kept, and it remains valid for one year from the declaration of the result.
