Chennai Metro Rail Online Form 2026: Contract and Deputation Posts
The Chennai Metro Rail online form 2026 is open under Employment Notification No. CMRL-HR-CON-DEP-05-2026, dated 23 September 2026. Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL), a joint venture of the Government of India and the Government of Tamil Nadu, wants experienced professionals for seven designations ranging from Assistant Manager to Joint General Manager. Every post is filled on contract or deputation, not as a regular appointment, and the last date to submit the application is 13 October 2026.
What makes this notification different from a typical metro recruitment is who it is written for. There is no written test and no physical test. CMRL is looking for people who already hold senior or middle-level roles in Railways, state government departments, metro companies, PSUs or private firms, and the whole selection rests on document scrutiny, an interview and a medical examination. The sections below explain the posts, the experience each one demands, the fee, the documents and the steps.

After 2 satisfactory years, a contract employee may be considered for the IDA pay scale on contract basis. Applicants coming through proper channel from government or PSU organizations with at least 2 years in a regular pay scale may be considered for IDA pay directly on selection.

Besides the consolidated pay, CMRL provides medical and personal accident insurance, life insurance, mobile phone reimbursement with a SIM card for official use, and other admissible allowances under its HR policy. A higher post or higher remuneration may be considered for candidates with strong past experience, a strong interview, higher qualification or exceptional credentials.
Selection Process
Selection is a two-stage process: an interview followed by a medical examination. Before either stage, CMRL scrutinizes applications and shortlists candidates, and this scrutiny is based solely on the documents and certificates uploaded in the online form. Meeting the stated qualification and experience does not by itself guarantee an interview call.
- The interview and medical examination assess knowledge, skills, comprehension, attitude, aptitude and physical fitness.
- Only shortlisted candidates will be notified for the interview. No TA or DA is paid for attending it.
- CMRL bears the cost of the first medical examination. If a candidate asks for an extension of joining time, the second medical examination is at the candidate's cost, and travel to and from the medical test is always borne by the candidate.
- A candidate who fails the prescribed medical test will not be given alternative employment.
- Provisionally selected candidates must produce original certificates during verification. Appointment is also subject to CMRL being satisfied about the candidate's character and antecedents.

- Read the advertisement carefully and confirm that you meet every eligibility criterion for the post, as the eligibility you declare is provisional and is verified only if you are shortlisted.
