Nationality

The candidate must be a citizen of India.

Educational Qualification

The candidate must hold a Law graduate degree (LLB) from a university recognised by the University Grants Commission or an equivalent authority.

Age Limit (As On 1 January 2026)

  • Minimum age: 21 years
  • Maximum age: 30 years for general candidates
  • Chhattisgarh local residents get a relaxed maximum age limit of 35 years, which goes up to 40 years with an additional 5 year rebate given to educated unemployed youth of the state. This extended relaxation is applicable from 1 January 2024 to 31 December 2028.
  • SC, ST and OBC (non creamy layer) candidates of Chhattisgarh get 5 years of extra relaxation in the upper age limit.
  • Chhattisgarh local women candidates get 10 years of relaxation in the upper age limit.
  • Chhattisgarh government permanent, temporary, work charged and contingency paid employees, and employees of state corporations and boards, can apply up to 38 years of age.
  • Retrenched government servants and ex-servicemen of Chhattisgarh get age relaxation equal to their service period, subject to certain conditions.
  • Chhattisgarh widows, deserted women and divorced women get 5 years of relaxation in the upper age limit.
  • Persons with disability of Chhattisgarh get 5 years of relaxation in the upper age limit.
  • In all cases, combining every type of relaxation, the maximum age limit will not exceed 45 years.

CGPSC ADPO Pay Scale and Probation

The selected Assistant District Public Prosecution Officer will be placed in Pay Matrix Level-9 (Rs 38100 to Rs 120400). Dearness allowance and other allowances will be paid as per rules issued by the Chhattisgarh government from time to time. The selected candidates will be appointed on a probation period of 3 years.

CGPSC ADPO Selection Process 2026

Candidates will be selected through a written examination followed by an interview. The selection process carries a total of 330 marks.

Negative Marking and Qualifying Marks

There is a negative marking provision in the exam. The marks are calculated using the formula: Final Marks equals Marks for correct answer multiplied by total correct answers, minus one third of the same marks multiplied by total wrong answers. General and unreserved candidates must score a minimum of 33 percent marks in each paper, while reserved category candidates must score a minimum of 23 percent marks.
