Candidates must register on the apprenticeship portal NATS before applying for training in the bank. Only candidates with a 100% complete profile on the portal are eligible to apply. Once you register, an enrollment number is generated, and you should keep it safe because you have to enter it while applying for training seats.

State-Wise Training Seats

The 3500 seats are divided state by state, and candidates can opt for only one state. The relaxation for SC, ST and OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) is allowed on a cumulative basis with only one of the other relaxable categories. The maximum age of 28 years applies to General and EWS candidates.

Other Conditions

• The candidate should not have undergone apprenticeship training earlier with Canara Bank or any other organization, should not be pursuing it currently, and should not have been terminated from it due to their own fault.
• Candidates who have undergone training or have job experience of one year or more after completing their qualification are not eligible.
• Ex-servicemen and disabled ex-servicemen will not be engaged as apprentices, and there is no reservation for them.

Local Language and Medical Fitness

Candidates who produce a 10th or 12th standard mark sheet or certificate showing they studied the opted local language do not need to take the local language test. Others will be tested at the Document Verification stage, and those who fail will not be engaged. Engagement is also subject to being declared medically fit as per the bank's requirement.

Reservation Rules Worth Knowing

Reservation for SC, ST, OBC, EWS and PwBD follows the percentages prescribed for each state or union territory. PwBD reservation is horizontal and within the overall training vacancies of the state. It is available only to persons with benchmark disabilities, meaning not less than 40% of a specified disability, and it is not applicable on the basis of a temporary disability certificate.

Stipend and Training Terms

The period of apprenticeship training is 12 months, delivered as on-the-job training at select branches. The monthly stipend is Rs. 16,650, which includes any government subsidy. Canara Bank pays Rs. 10,500 each month, and the government share of Rs. 6,150 is credited directly to the apprentice through DBT. The stipend is paid after adjusting loss of pay, if any, and apprentices are not eligible for other allowances or benefits.

How Candidates Will Be Selected

There is no written exam mentioned in the notice. The merit list is prepared state wise in descending order of marks or percentage in the 12th Std (HSC/10+2) or Diploma examination. If percentages are equal, the older candidate ranks higher.

The minimum qualifying marks are 60% in the 12th or Diploma examination, and 55% for SC, ST and PwBD candidates. Fractions are ignored, so 59.99% counts as below 60%. 1. If you have not registered earlier, register on the apprenticeship portal NATS and complete your profile to 100 percent. Note down the enrollment number generated after registration.
2. Scan your photograph (4.5 cm x 3.5 cm), signature, left thumb impression and a handwritten declaration in English, all as per the size and format given in the notice. The declaration must not be in capital letters.
3. Keep a valid personal email id and mobile number active, and keep your online payment details ready if you need to pay the fee.
