Physical Standards

Height

Weight

• All categories of female candidates: Minimum weight 48 kg.
• No marks will be awarded for height, chest, or weight, but candidates who do not meet the prescribed standards will be declared disqualified.

Third Gender Candidates

Physical standards and Physical Efficiency Test standards for Third Gender (Kinnar/Kothi/Hijra/Transgender) candidates will be the same as those applicable to BC category candidates, as per Government of India Gazette No. 483, dated 25.09.2020.

Selection Process - BPSSC Company Commander Examination 2026

The selection process for BPSSC Gulm Samadeshak (Company Commander) consists of three stages:

Stage 1: Preliminary Written Examination

• Total Marks: 200
• Total Questions: 100 (Multiple Choice / Objective Type)

• Negative Marking: 0.2 marks deducted for each wrong answer in both stages.
• Answer booklets will be in duplicate; one copy will be retained by the Commission.
• Based on Main Exam merit, candidates equal to 6 times the number of vacancies will be shortlisted category-wise for Physical Efficiency Test (PET).

Stage 3: Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

Candidates who qualify the Main Written Examination must pass the following physical tests. Candidates must qualify each event separately:

Important Rules for PET:

• Candidates who fail to complete the run within the prescribed time limit will NOT be allowed to attempt High Jump, Long Jump, or Shot Put.
• For High Jump, Long Jump, and Shot Put, candidates will be given a maximum of 3 attempts each.
• Candidates must qualify all events separately. Physical Efficiency Test is qualifying in nature only - no marks are added to merit.
• Married female candidates found pregnant at the time of medical examination during the run and PET will not be permitted to participate and will be declared disqualified.
• Third Gender candidates' PET standards will be the same as BC category candidates.

Merit List & Final Selection

• The final merit list will be prepared based on marks obtained in the Main Written Examination (Paper II only), category-wise, in descending order of merit.
• In case of a tie in marks, the older candidate will be ranked higher.
• If marks and date of birth are also the same, the candidate with higher educational qualification will be ranked higher.
• If educational qualification is also equal, the candidate whose name appears earlier in the English alphabetical order (as per Class X Board Certificate) will be ranked higher.
• Minimum qualifying marks in Main Exam for the final merit list: SC/ST/Female - 32%, EBC - 34%, BC - 36.5%, General/UR - 40%.
• Final selected candidates will be recommended by BPSSC to the Appointing Authority (Deputy Inspector General, Bihar Home Guard, Patna) for appointment.

Reservation Provisions

• Reservation is applicable as per the Bihar Act 3 of 1992 (amended from time to time) for SC, ST, BC, EBC, and EWS categories.
• 35% horizontal reservation for women is applicable only to permanent residents (domicile) of Bihar State as per Government resolution dated 09.07.2025.
• 2% horizontal reservation for grandchildren/great-grandchildren of Bihar State Freedom Fighters (those receiving Central Government pension) is applicable.
• Reservation benefit (including 35% women's reservation) is available only to Bihar domicile candidates. Candidates from other states will be treated as Unreserved (General) category.
