Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

  • Senior Consultant (Degree Course): MD / MS / DNB in the concerned speciality with a minimum of 8 years of post-qualification experience on the date of application.
  • Junior Consultant (Degree Course): MD / MS / DNB in the concerned speciality with a minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience on the date of application.
  • Senior Consultant (Diploma Course): MD / MS / DNB in the concerned speciality with a minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience on the date of application.
  • Junior Consultant (Diploma Course): MD / MS / DNB in the concerned speciality with a minimum of 2 years of post-qualification experience on the date of application.
  • Junior Librarian: Degree or Diploma in Library Science from Mumbai University or an equivalent recognised university. Prior experience is preferred.
  • Junior Dietician: Degree in Home Science or postgraduate degree in Dietetics / Nutrition from a recognised institution. Knowledge of Marathi is required.
  • Optometrist: 3-year Diploma in Optometry after SSC or B.Sc. in Optometry after HSC. Degree holders will be preferred.
  • Audiologist: Degree or Diploma in Audiology and Speech Therapy from a recognised institution in India, England, USA, Australia, or Canada. Degree holders will be preferred. Knowledge of Marathi is required.

Age Limit

  • For Consultant posts: Maximum age is 60 years as on the last date of application (15/05/2026).
  • For Paramedical posts: Minimum age 18 years and maximum age 38 years for General / Open category candidates.
  • For Paramedical posts (Reserved categories): Maximum age 43 years.
  • Age is calculated as on 15/05/2026.

Selection Process

  • Candidates will be shortlisted based on qualifications and experience.
  • Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview. Date, time, and venue will be communicated by e-mail.
  • Candidates must bring all original certificates at the time of interview for verification.
  • Candidates must attend the interview at their own expense.

General Conditions

  • These appointments are purely on contract basis and can be discontinued at any time without prior notice.
  • The contract will be renewed every six months with a one-day technical break.
  • Selected candidates may be transferred to any peripheral hospital under BMC jurisdiction where a DNB programme is proposed.
  • The applicant hospital must be the principal place of practice. Consultants must not have any other academic institutional attachment. Private practice in a non-academic independent setup is permitted.
  • Candidates working in BMC services must submit a No Objection Certificate from their Head of Department.
  • Working knowledge of Marathi language is mandatory.
