About AIIMS CRE 5 2026
The Common Recruitment Examination (CRE)-5 is a special-purpose recruitment initiative aimed at enabling timely appointments to various regular Non-Faculty Group B and Group C posts across participating All India Institutes of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) and other Central Government Institutes/Bodies. Eligibility Criteria - AIIMS CRE 5 2026
General Eligibility
- Applicants must be Indian Nationals.
- Candidates must satisfy themselves that they fulfill the essential qualifications and other conditions of the post(s) as of the closing date of online registration, failing which their candidature will be summarily rejected and the application fee forfeited.
- Required educational qualification and experience must be completed on or before the last date of online submission.
- The Recruitment Rules of the respective participating AIIMS/Institute will apply for the essential eligibility criteria of each post.

Age Limit and Age Relaxation
The crucial date for determining age eligibility is the closing date of online registration. The following age relaxations are applicable as per the notification:

Note: SC/ST/OBC candidates who apply for unreserved vacancies will not get age relaxation. Reserved category candidates who become eligible through age relaxation will be considered only for reserved seats of their category. Age relaxation for PwBD is admissible irrespective of whether the post is reserved for PwD, provided the post is identified suitable for the relevant disability category.
Examination Pattern - AIIMS CRE 5 2026 Syllabus & Exam Pattern
Computer Based Test (CBT) Structure
- Duration: 90 minutes
- Total Questions: 100 MCQs (400 marks total, 4 marks each)
- 20 MCQs on General Knowledge, Aptitude and Basic Computer Knowledge
- 80 MCQs on the domain-specific subject related to the post group applied for
- The question paper is divided into 5 sections of 18 minutes each, with 20 questions per section. Each section appears one at a time; once the time for a section lapses, it cannot be revisited.
Medium of Examination
- For groups where the qualification is 10th / Matriculation / 10+2, the exam will be Bilingual (English/Hindi).
- For groups/posts requiring specific technical domain knowledge or bachelor's degree or higher qualification, the exam will be in English only.
- For combined groups with mixed qualification levels, the medium will be English only.
- The decision of the competent authority at AIIMS regarding the medium of examination will be final.
Marking Scheme and Qualifying Criteria
- Each question carries 4 marks.
- There is a negative marking of 1/4 mark for each wrong answer.
- Qualifying Marks: 40% for UR/EWS, 35% for OBC, 30% for SC/ST and PwBD.
- Ex-Servicemen candidates need to meet the qualifying marks applicable as per their category.
Resolution of Tie Cases
- First, by marks scored in the domain-specific part (higher marks = higher merit).
- If unresolved, by the number of wrong answers / negative marks (fewer wrong answers = higher merit).
- If still unresolved, by date of birth (older candidate placed higher).
- If still unresolved, by alphabetical order of the candidate's name, followed by father's and mother's name.
Skill Test - AIIMS CRE 5 2026
- For certain post groups, a Skill Test will be conducted as the second stage after qualifying the CBT (Stage I).
- Candidates qualifying both CBT and Skill Test become provisionally eligible for all posts in the group (with or without Skill Test requirement).
- Candidates who qualify CBT but not the Skill Test remain provisionally eligible only for posts within the group that do not require a Skill Test.
- PwBD candidates appearing for the Skill Test may use a Scribe only for reading instructions and mouse clicks; answering or interpreting questions by the Scribe is strictly prohibited.

Date and Centre of Examination
- The CBT is tentatively planned for 25 to 27 July 2026. AIIMS reserves the right to change the date and mode with at least 10 days' advance notice.
- Examination centres will be located in all major States/UTs of India, subject to receiving a sufficient number of applications.
- If the number of applications for a group is less than 500, the examination for that group may be conducted solely in Delhi/NCR, irrespective of the candidate's choice of state.
- AIIMS reserves the right to allot any city/state to any candidate, irrespective of their preference, and no correspondence will be entertained in this regard.
Selection Process - AIIMS CRE 5 2026
- The merit list of qualified candidates is prepared solely on the basis of performance in the Computer Based Test (CBT), as per the prescribed qualifying criteria.
- If CBT is conducted in multiple shifts, a normalization procedure will be applied as per AIIMS Notice No. 35/2023 dated 20.01.2023.
- Where a Skill Test is applicable, it will be qualifying in nature, and the merit list will be prepared from candidates who qualify the Skill Test based on CBT performance.
- Qualified candidates will be invited to exercise choices and preferences for allocation to participating institutes based on their eligibility.
- Candidates who do not exercise choices within the specified period will not be considered for allocation to any institute.
- Institute allocation will be made strictly in order of merit based on choices and preferences submitted.

- Visit the official AIIMS Examination website at aiimsexams.ac.in.
- Read the Detailed Recruitment Advertisement (DRA) Notice No. 93/2026 dated 13 June 2026 carefully, including Annexure-I (Eligibility Criteria) and Annexure-II (Vacancy Details) for your desired post group.
- Register through the One Time Registration (OTR) system. Applicants applying with duplicate or different Candidate IDs will have their candidature rejected.
- Select the appropriate post group(s) you are eligible for. A separate application and separate fee is required for each group.
- Fill in the online application form carefully with personal, educational, and category details, as corrections after submission may not be possible.
- Upload photo, signature, and thumb impression as per the 'Upload Image Instructions' provided on the website.
- Pay the prescribed application fee online through Debit Card, Credit Card, or Net Banking: Rs. 3000 (General/OBC) or Rs. 2400 (SC/ST/EWS). PwD candidates are exempted.

- No Admit Card will be sent by post. Candidates must download it from the official website by logging in with their credentials.
- Separate Admit Card will be issued for Skill Test (if applicable), conducted preferably in Delhi/NCR.
