Educational Qualification

Mandatory Qualification (Anivaarya Arhat - Shaikshik): As per UP Pharmacist Service Rules 1980, Part-4, Rule-8, a candidate for direct recruitment must possess a Diploma in Pharmacy from a recognised institution and must also be registered with the State Pharmacy Council, Uttar Pradesh.

Preferential Qualification (Adhimaani Arhat): As per Rule-9, preference in direct recruitment shall be given to a candidate who:

  • Has served in the Provincial Army for a minimum period of two years, OR
  • Has obtained the 'B' Certificate of the National Cadet Corps (NCC).

Age Limit

For direct recruitment, the candidate's age on the first day of January of the year in which recruitment is to be made (or on the first day of July if posts are advertised between 1st July and 31st December) must be:

  • Minimum Age: 18 years
  • Maximum Age: 40 years

Upper age relaxation is applicable for reserved categories (SC, ST, OBC) and other special categories as per Uttar Pradesh government rules. Employees already serving in state government departments are eligible for 5 years age relaxation. Ex-servicemen will get age relaxation as per applicable rules.

PET 2025 Condition

Only those candidates who participated in the Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET-2025) and were issued a score card by UPSSSC are eligible to apply. Candidates who received a zero or negative normalised score in PET-2025 will not be shortlisted for the Main Examination.

Selection Process - UPSSSC Pharmacist 2026

Selection for the Pharmacist (Bheshajik) post will be based entirely on the Written Main Examination (Likhit Pariksha). There is no interview. The selection process is as follows:

  • Shortlisting for the Main Examination is done based on the normalised score of PET-2025, with 15 times the number of vacancies (category-wise) being shortlisted.
  • The Main Written Examination is held as per the announced exam schedule.
  • Final merit list is prepared based on performance in the Main Examination.

  • Pharmaceutics: Acids, bases, buffers, antioxidants, gastrointestinal agents, topical agents, antimicrobials and astringents, dental products, respiratory stimulants, expectorants and emetics, antidotes, major intra and extra cellular electrolytes, inorganic official compounds, radio pharmaceuticals and contrast media, quality control of drugs and pharmaceuticals, pharmacognosy tests.
  • Pharmacognosy: Laxatives, cardiotonics, carminatives and G.I. regulators, astringents, drugs acting on nervous system, antihypertensive, antitussives, antirheumatics, antitumour, antileprotics, antidiabetics, diuretics, antidysenteries, antiseptics and disinfectants, antimalarials, oxytocics, vitamins, enzymes, perfumes and flavoring agents.
  • Biochemistry and Clinical Pathology: Introduction to biochemistry, carbohydrates, lipids, vitamins, enzymes, therapeutics.

How to Apply Online for UPSSSC Pharmacist 2026

The application process is entirely online. No offline mode is accepted. Follow the step-by-step guide below:

  1. Visit the official UPSSSC website at upsssc.gov.in.
  2. On the homepage, go to the Live Advertisement Segment and click on the relevant advertisement (Advt. No. 01-Pariksha/2026) to download or view it.
  3. Click on the Applicant Segment and log in using your PET-2025 Registration Number and the OTP sent to your registered mobile number or email.
  4. In the Application section, verify your personal details pre-filled from PET-2025 (name, category, date of birth, etc.) and fill in the mandatory educational qualification details.
  5. Enter the board/university name, passing year, certificate number, and other academic details as required.
  6. In the Other Details section, fill in any additional qualification (if applicable) and verify your address details.
  7. Read the Declaration carefully, select all checkboxes, enter the verification code, and click Save and Submit to proceed to fee payment.
  8. Pay the application fee of Rs. 25 (online processing fee) using Credit Card, Debit Card, Internet Banking, UPI, or SBI e-Challan.
  9. After successful payment and reconciliation, your application form will be auto-submitted. Download and print the application form for your records.

Important: Candidates can make permitted amendments (correspondence address, personal details, EWS/horizontal reservation category, educational qualification details, marital status) in their application form up to 05-04-2026 using the Modify Application option in Applicant's Dashboard.

Rules and Important Instructions

  • Only candidates who appeared in PET-2025 and received a UPSSSC score card are eligible for this Main Exam.
  • Candidates who are residents of Uttar Pradesh only will be eligible for reservation benefits.
  • Candidates claiming reservation must possess valid caste/reservation certificates issued by competent authority up to the application date.
  • EWS candidates must have an EWS certificate issued between 01-04-2025 and 29-03-2026, based on financial year 2024-25 income, valid for 2025-26.
  • Date of birth as per High School (Class 10) certificate only will be accepted.
  • Government employees must obtain a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their employer before participating in the selection process.
  • If a candidate submits multiple applications, only the last submitted application will be accepted.
  • Providing false information will lead to cancellation of candidature and debarment from future UPSSSC exams.
