Mandatory PET Condition

Only those candidates are eligible to apply who:

  • Have appeared in and qualified PET-2025 (Preliminary Eligibility Test 2025).
  • Have been issued a PET-2025 Score Card by UPSSSC.
  • Have a non-zero / non-negative normalised score in PET-2025.

Candidates whose PET-2025 result is under investigation (UI) or provisional (Provisional) may apply provisionally subject to final decision by the Commission.

Educational Qualification

Mandatory (Compulsory) Qualification:

  • Pass in High School (Class 10) from Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad, Uttar Pradesh or equivalent government-recognised board.
  • AND one of the following technical certificates:

Option (a): Certificate in Nalkoop Mechanic course from Rajkiya Pravidhik Kendra or Rajkiya Audyogik Prashikshan Kendra, Lal Diggi Park, Gorakhpur, or equivalent government-recognised certificate.

Option (b): Minimum 2-year vocational training course certificate from Sewa Yojan and Prashikshan Nideshaly, UP or any Industrial Training Institute (ITI), or 3-year Rashtriya Shikshuta Praman Patra (National Apprenticeship Certificate) from NVIC, Government of India in any of the following trades:

  • Machine Mechanic (Machinst)
  • Fitter
  • Wireman
  • Turner

Note: Certificate of Nalkoop Mechanic course issued by Rajkiya Audyogik Prashikshan Kendra, B.K.T., Lucknow is also considered equivalent to the Gorakhpur centre certificate.

Preferential (Adhimani) Qualification

Selection Process – UPSSSC Assistant Boring Technician 2026

Selection for the post of Assistant Boring Technician will be done through the following process:

  • Step 1 – PET-2025 Shortlisting: Candidates will be shortlisted for the Main Exam based on their normalised PET-2025 score. Category-wise 15 times the number of vacancies (up to last cut-off decimal rounded to 2 places) will be shortlisted.
  • Step 2 – Main Written Examination: Shortlisted candidates will appear in the Main Written Exam (Likhit Pariksha). Final merit list will be prepared based on Main Exam scores.

Important Rules for Candidates

  • All UP reserved category candidates must mention their category in the application.
  • Only one relaxation benefit (most beneficial) is allowed for candidates claiming multiple reservations.
  • Candidates who are not domicile of Uttar Pradesh will not get reservation benefits and will be treated as General category.
  • Ex-Servicemen retired on or before 05 May 2026 are eligible for reservation benefits under the applicable Act.
  • Outstanding Sportspersons must submit a certificate issued by a competent authority in the prescribed format as per UP Government Norms.
  • For women candidates, only the caste certificate from the father's side will be accepted.
  • EWS candidates must obtain a certificate issued between 01 April 2026 and 05 May 2026 based on financial year 2025-26 income, valid for financial year 2026-27.
  • Date of birth as per High School certificate is the only accepted proof. No other document for DOB will be entertained.
