Educational Qualification

  • Must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology (PCB) from a Board recognized by the Ministry of Education, Government of India.
  • Minimum 50% marks in aggregate and minimum 40% marks in each subject.
  • Candidates appearing in Class 12 Board Exam of academic year 2025-26 are also eligible to apply. They will be selected only upon producing the original marksheet (internet copy not acceptable) with the minimum required marks during subsequent stages.

Selection Process

Stage I - INET 2026

  • INET 2026 will be conducted in May 2026 for SSR (Med) 02/2027 batch.
  • Results (Pass/Fail) with marks will be uploaded on the candidate's dashboard at joinindiannavy.gov.in.

Shortlisting for Stage II

  • Candidates are shortlisted based on marks in Stage I INET 2026.
  • Shortlisting is done state-wise. Cut-off marks may vary from state to state.
  • In case of tied percentage, candidates with an earlier date of birth (fewer remaining chances) get priority.
  • Sponsor candidates and NCC 'C' Certificate holders are exempted from INET 2026. They are directly issued call-up for Stage II based on eligibility after certificate verification through CABS/DG NCC. Submission of provisional or unauthorised certificates leads to cancellation.

Physical Fitness Test (PFT)

Qualifying in PFT is mandatory. Candidates undergo PFT at their own risk.

Recruitment Medical Examination

  • Conducted for candidates who qualify PFT by authorized military doctors.
  • Candidates found medically unfit may appeal within 05 days at a designated Military Hospital allocated by the Indian Navy.

Medical Standards

  • Medical examination conducted by authorized military doctors per regulations applicable on entry.
  • Minimum Height: 157 cm (male)
  • Candidate must be in good physical and mental health, free from disease or disability likely to interfere with duties ashore and afloat under peace and war conditions.
  • Tattoos: Permitted only on inner face of forearms (inside elbow to wrist) and reversed/dorsal side of the hand. Tattoos on any other body part will bar the candidate from recruitment.

How to Apply Online for Indian Navy SSR Medical 02/2027 Batch

  1. Visit the official Indian Navy website at https://joinindiannavy.gov.in. Applications for Stage I INET 2026 are accepted online only from 14 March 2026 (00:01 hrs) to 06 April 2026 (17:00 hrs).
  2. Register on the Candidates Registration Portal and fill in all required personal details, educational qualifications, domicile information, and three city preferences for the INET 2026 examination centre.
  3. Upload a recent passport size colour photograph taken not before March 2026 (size 10 KB to 50 KB). The photograph must show the candidate holding a black slate with his name and date of photograph clearly written in white chalk in capital letters. A live photograph will also be captured through webcam during form filling.
  4. Upload all required original documents including marksheets, domicile certificate, and NCC certificate if applicable. Sponsor candidates must upload their original Sponsorship certificate.
  5. Pay the examination fee of Rs 550 plus 18% GST online through Net Banking, Visa, Master, RuPay Credit or Debit Card, or UPI. Admit card will be issued only after successful fee payment.
  6. Submit the application and note your registration number. A correction window of 02 days is available from 10 April to 11 April 2026 after the application window closes. No corrections will be allowed after this period.
  7. Download the Call-up Letter cum Admit Card from https://joinindiannavy.gov.in approximately one week before the INET 2026 examination. No call-up letter will be sent by post.

General Instructions

  • Candidates must give three city preferences for INET 2026. Centre allocation is final once selected and cannot be changed.
  • All communication will be done electronically only. No documents will be sent by post.
  • Original certificates, marksheets, domicile certificate, and NCC certificate (if held) must be brought at all stages of recruitment including INS Chilka.
  • All selected candidates must download the Police Verification Form and get antecedents verified from the Superintendent of Police of their jurisdiction. Candidates without verified Police Verification Reports or with adverse comments will not be eligible for enrolment.
  • Declaring incorrect domicile, gender, or other details will result in cancellation at any stage.
  • Candidates reporting 30 minutes late for Stage I INET will not be allowed to appear in the examination.
  • Selection for 02/2027 batch is valid only for that batch. Qualified candidates not in the merit list cannot claim admission for any other batch.
  • Mobile phones and communication devices are not allowed inside examination premises.
  • No enquiry will be entertained regarding this recruitment after 6 months of completion of the recruitment cycle.
