Important: No relaxation in physical standards is permitted under any circumstances. Candidates with Knock-knee, Flat-foot or any visual defect are not eligible. Selection Process – Chayan Prakriya

Van Rakshak and Kshetra Rakshak Selection Process

Selection will be held in two stages:

Stage 1 – Written Examination: Conducted by MPESB Bhopal. Objective type, 100 marks, 2 hours duration. Minimum qualifying marks: 33% for Unreserved (UR) and 23% for SC/ST/OBC candidates. EWS candidates get an additional 10% relaxation in qualifying marks but selection is based on merit within the EWS list.

Stage 2 – Physical Measurement and Walking Test: Candidates who qualify the written exam (in the ratio of 5 times the notified vacancies per category) are called for physical measurement and walking test conducted by the Forest Department/MP Van Vikas Nigam.

  • Walking Test – Male: 25 Kilometres in 4 Hours (Qualifying only – no marks awarded)
  • Walking Test – Female: 14 Kilometres in 4 Hours (Qualifying only – no marks awarded)

Candidates must arrive 60 minutes before the walking test begins. Entry is permitted up to 30 minutes after the walk commences but no extra time will be given. Repeat attempts at the walking test are not permitted.

Jail Prahari (Prison Guard) Selection Process

Stage 1 – Written Examination: 100 marks, 100 questions, 2 hours. Top 10 times the number of vacancies (category-wise) are shortlisted for Stage 2.

Medical Standards – Chikitsa Maapdand

The following medical requirements apply to all posts:

  • Eyesight of both eyes must be normal. Candidate must be physically fit for the services.
  • Candidate must not be physically disabled.
  • No Knock-knee, Flat-foot, or any visual defect is permitted.
  • A Medical Fitness Certificate issued by a competent authority is mandatory before appointment.
  • If any female candidate is found to be pregnant (12 weeks or more) during physical testing, she will be temporarily declared unfit until 6 weeks after delivery, after which she can be re-examined upon submission of a Fitness Certificate from a Registered Medical Practitioner.

Rules and Important Instructions

  • Aadhaar Registration Mandatory: All candidates must have Aadhaar registration. Multi-level biometric verification will be conducted at the exam centre. Candidates with locked Aadhaar must unlock it before the exam date.
  • Original Identity Proof Required: Candidates must carry an original photo ID (Voter ID, PAN Card, Aadhaar Card, Driving Licence or Passport) at the exam centre. E-Aadhaar is not accepted.
  • Single Application Form: Each candidate must submit only one online form for all posts. Post-wise priority order must be filled mandatorily. If priority is not marked for a post, the candidate will not be considered for that post even with high marks.
  • Employment Office Registration: Live registration at the Madhya Pradesh State Employment Office is compulsory for all posts as on the date of application.
  • Out-of-State Candidates: Candidates from outside Madhya Pradesh can only apply under the Unreserved (Open) category. No reservation or age relaxation applies to them.
  • Electronic Devices Strictly Prohibited: Mobile phones, calculators, log tables, Bluetooth devices, electronic watches and all other electronic devices are completely prohibited inside the examination hall.
  • District Cadre (Van Rakshak): Van Rakshak is a district-level post. Merit lists will be prepared district-wise. Kshetra Rakshak is a state-level post.
  • Probation Period: Every selected candidate will be placed on probation for 3 years. Stipend for Year 1: 70%, Year 2: 80%, Year 3: 90% of minimum pay scale. Full salary starts after successful completion of probation.
  • Character Verification: Police character verification is mandatory before final appointment. Only candidates with a satisfactory ('anukool') report will be considered.
  • Service Bond: Selected candidates are required to execute a Service Bond (Seva-Band Karaarnama) as per the MP Jail Department circular dated 25 September 2018.
  • Special Provision for Primitive Tribal Groups: Candidates from Baiga, Sahariya/Sahariya and Bhariya tribes applying for Van Rakshak/Kshetra Rakshak must send their application in hard copy directly to the concerned Forest Division (not to MPESB). Their selection is done without a formal exam process if they meet the minimum educational qualification.
  • Two-Child Norm: Candidates with more than two living children (where one child was born on or after 26 January 2001) are not eligible to apply.
  • Disqualification Criteria: Impersonation, polygamy, conviction for an offence involving moral turpitude, submission of forged documents or concealment of material information will result in permanent disqualification and legal action.
