Eligibility Criteria
Nationality
Candidate must be a citizen of India.
Age Limit
Age must be 18 to 23 years as on 01-01-2026 (i.e., born not before 02-01-2003 and not later than 01-01-2008). Permissible relaxations in upper age limit apply as per notified category rules.
Educational Qualification
Matriculation (10th class) pass from a recognized board as on 01-01-2026.
Ex-Servicemen / Special Provisions
10% vacancies are earmarked for Ex-Servicemen (ESM). Ex-Servicemen eligibility and relaxations follow the rules and require specified certificates.

Scheme Of Examination
The selection process comprises: Computer Based Examination (CBE) → PET / PST → Detailed Medical Examination (DME) / Document Verification (DV).
Computer Based Examination (CBE) — Overview

Duration: 60 minutes. Negative marking: 0.25 marks for each wrong answer. Questions are of matriculation level. CBE will be held in English, Hindi and 13 regional languages.
Physical Efficiency Test (PET) / Physical Standard Test (PST)
Candidates shortlisted from CBE will be called for PET/PST conducted by the CAPFs. Measurement and race standards:

Relaxations in height/chest are provided for specified categories and regions as per notified norms; chest measurement expansion requirements apply where applicable.
Medical Examination & Document Verification
Detailed Medical Examination (DME) and Document Verification (DV) will be carried out by the CAPFs for candidates shortlisted after PET/PST. Candidates must produce original certificates (matriculation, caste/Domicile/PRC, NCC if claimed, ESM documents, relaxation certificates etc.).
How To Apply Online
Step-by-step procedure (summary)
- Generate One-Time Registration (OTR) on the SSC website and verify mobile & email via OTP.
- Login with Registration Number and password; choose the live advertisement for Constable (GD) / Rifleman (GD) and click Apply.
- Fill the Online Application Form. Key fields (name, DOB, matriculation details) are non-editable in OTR — enter accurately.
- Capture / upload live photograph (no cap/spectacles) and scanned signature (10–20 KB JPEG) as per specifications.
- Choose medium for CBE, exam centre preferences (3), domicile state/district and force preferences (fill all seven CAPF preferences).
- Preview the application carefully. Submit final application before 31.12.2025. Only one final application is allowed during the normal submission period.
- Pay the fee online (if applicable). Keep a copy/printout of the submitted application for records.
- Use the correction window (08.01.2026 — 10.01.2026) for limited corrections. Correction charges apply (₹200 first time; ₹500 second time).
Important: Candidates are responsible for ensuring accuracy of domicile/state information — mismatches at DV will lead to cancellation.
Admission & Centres
Admission certificates (AC) for CBE and later stages will be available online only. Candidates may choose three exam centre preferences. Self-slot selection facility will be provided; candidates who do not select a slot when the window opens will not be scheduled and will not receive an AC.
