Apply Online

Candidates must apply only through the SSC portal. The One-Time Registration (OTR) on the new SSC site is mandatory before filling the application form. Apply Online as per the instructions and keep documents ready.

Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit (As On 01-01-2026): 18–27 years (Candidates born between 02-01-1999 and 01-01-2008). Age relaxations apply as per category rules.

Criterion Details
Essential Educational Qualification For LDC/JSA and most DEO posts: 12th Standard or equivalent from a recognised Board.
For DEO/DEO Grade 'A' in specified Ministries: 12th Standard (Science) with Mathematics as a subject. Candidates appearing in 12th may apply but must possess qualification by 01-01-2026.
Nationality Citizen of India or as permitted under SSC rules (Nepal, Bhutan, certain migrants with eligibility certificate).

Document Proof: Originals of matriculation / 10+2 mark sheet or passing certificate to be produced at Document Verification.

Exam Details And Pattern

CBT I (Tier I) Pattern

CBT I is an objective multiple-choice Computer Based Test. Marks scored in CBT I will be used (after normalization, if applicable) to determine merit and cut-offs. Negative marking is applied for wrong answers.

Component Details
Sections English Language, General Intelligence, Quantitative Aptitude, General Awareness (objective MCQs).
Questions 100 Questions (25 Questions per Section — indicative).
Marks 100 Marks (1 Mark per Question).
Duration 60 Minutes (80 Minutes For Candidates Eligible For Scribe/Compensatory Time).
Negative Marking 0.25 Marks Deduction For Each Wrong Answer.
Normalization Scores Will Be Normalized For Multi-Shift Exams As Per Commission Procedure.

CBT II (Tier II) Pattern

CBT II consists of objective papers and qualifying tests. Section-wise marks in Tier II and Section-I of Tier-II are crucial for final merit. Some parts are qualifying in nature.

Component Details
Structure Objective Type/Multiple Choice Questions except for Section-IV (Skill/Typing Test). Sections typically include: Mathematical Abilities, Reasoning, English Language & Comprehension, General Awareness, Computer Knowledge (Section-III is qualifying).
Marks & Sections Section-wise marks vary; Section-I of Tier-II plays a key role in merit (see Official Notice for exact marks distribution).
Skill/Typing Test (Section-IV) Data Entry Operator (DEO) Skill Test:
• Part A (Certain Ministries): 15 minutes — 15,000 key depressions/hour (approx. 3700–4000 key-depressions).
• Part B (Other Ministries): 15 minutes — 8,000 key depressions/hour (approx. 2000–2200 key-depressions).
Typing Test (LDC/JSA): Typing speed required — 35 wpm (English) / 30 wpm (Hindi); duration 10 minutes (15 minutes for scribe-eligible with compensatory time).
Qualifying Nature Computer Knowledge Test (Section-III) is mandatory but qualifying only. Skill/Typing Test (Section-IV) is qualifying in nature; errors in Skill Test evaluated up to two decimal places.
Negative Marking There Is Negative Marking Of 1 Mark For Each Wrong Answer In Section-I, II And III Of Tier-II (As Applicable).

Answer Keys & Representations: Tentative answer keys will be uploaded on the SSC website after the examinations. Candidates may view and submit representations (with prescribed fee) within stipulated time.
