Educational Qualification

Candidates must have passed or be appearing in a Master’s degree or equivalent examination from a recognized university as specified in the notification.

Age Limit For Junior Research Fellowship

Candidates applying for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) should be not more than 30 years of age as on 01 December 2025. The cut-off date is the 01st day of the month in which the examination is concluded.

Age Relaxation For Junior Research Fellowship

Age relaxation of up to 5 years is applicable for Junior Research Fellowship to candidates belonging to the following categories:

• Scheduled Caste (SC)
• Scheduled Tribe (ST)
• Other Backward Classes (OBC – Non-Creamy Layer)
• Persons with Disability (PwD / PwBD)
• Third Gender
• Women Candidates
• Candidates having research experience
• Candidates holding LLM degree
• Candidates who have served in the Armed Forces

Age Limit For Assistant Professor

There is no upper age limit for candidates applying for Assistant Professor under NTA UGC NET December 2025, subject to fulfillment of educational eligibility conditions.
