Eligibility Criteria

The following eligibility requirements are taken directly from the official IB notification for IB MTS Recruitment 2025:

  • Educational Qualification: Matriculation or equivalent from a recognized Board.
  • Domicile: Possession of domicile certificate of the State against which the candidate has applied as on closing date 14.12.2025.
  • Age Limit: 18–25 years as on 14.12.2025. (Upper age relaxation: +5 years for SC/ST, +3 years for OBC (NCL)).
  • Other Relaxations: Age relaxations permitted for departmental candidates, ex-servicemen, widows/divorced women, meritorious sportspersons and PwBD as specified in the notification.
  • Service Liability: All India Transfer liability — candidates willing to serve anywhere in India only should apply.

Pay Scale: Level-1 (₹18,000–56,900) in the pay matrix plus admissible Central Government allowances. Special Security Allowance @20% of basic pay is applicable.

Scheme Of Exam

The examination for IB MTS Recruitment 2025 comprises two tiers as specified in the official notification.

Tier-I Online Objective Test: 100 MCQs divided into General Awareness (40), Quantitative Aptitude (20), Numerical/Analytical/Logical Ability & Reasoning (20), English Language (20). Negative marking: 1/4 mark for each wrong answer. 100 1 hr
Tier-II Descriptive Test on English Language and Comprehension (paragraph writing in 150 words). Tier-II is qualifying in nature; qualifying marks = 20 out of 50. 50 (qualifying) 1 hr

Cut-off in Tier-I as per notification: UR - 30, OBC - 28, SC/ST - 25, EWS - 30. Shortlisting for Tier-II will be approximately 10 times the number of vacancies subject to cut-offs and normalization. Final selection based on Tier-I performance provided candidate qualifies Tier-II, and subject to character, antecedent and medical verification.

How To Apply Online

Follow these exact steps from the official notification to apply for IB MTS Recruitment 2025:

  1. Visit MHA website (www.mha.gov.in) or NCS portal (www.ncs.gov.in) and click the link for IB MTS application.
  2. Step-I: Register personal and contact details. Note the Application Sequence Number (ASN) and password sent to your registered e-mail.
  3. Step-II: Re-login, select category, fill personal and qualification details, upload scanned photograph (100–200KB JPG/JPEG) and signature (80–150KB JPG/JPEG).
  4. Preview the application carefully; once submitted Step-I and Step-II cannot be edited later.
  5. Pay Examination Fee (₹100 if applicable) and Recruitment Processing Charges (₹550) via SBI EPAY LITE using net banking/debit/credit cards/UPI/challan. Note: SC/ST, female, PwBD and some ESM categories are exempted from examination fee but must pay recruitment processing charges.
  6. Keep printout of the filled application and payment acknowledgement for future reference. Do not send any hard copy to IB; applications are accepted online only.

Important: The e-challan generated is valid for 4 days. Complete offline challan payment by 16.12.2025 if you choose that mode. Fee once paid will not be refunded.

Selection And Other Instructions

  • Tier-I performance (after normalization) will determine shortlisting for Tier-II (approx. 10x vacancies) subject to cut-offs.
  • Tier-II is qualifying; final merit determined from Tier-I for candidates who qualify Tier-II.
  • Appointment is temporary; permanent appointment depends on prevailing rules at the time.
  • Provision for scribe and compensatory time for PwBD candidates is available as mentioned in the notification (see Appendices for medical certificates and undertakings).
