Clerk Examination Structure

The selection process for the post of Clerk consists of a Screening Test, followed by a Typing Test and Viva-Voce.

If a candidate fails in the Screening Test, he or she will not be considered for the Typing Test. If a candidate fails in the Typing Test, he or she will not be considered for appointment to the post of Clerk.

Stenographer (Lower Grade) Examination Structure

The selection for the post of Stenographer (Lower Grade) shall be made on merit, based on performance in the Shorthand Test, Typing Test and Viva-Voce.

Detailed Scheme Of Examination

Part I – Shorthand Test

Dictation of an English passage containing 400 words for jotting down dictation in 5 minutes and transcription thereof in 25 minutes, to assess speed and accuracy in shorthand.

Part II – Typing Test

A passage in English containing 400 words for typing in 10 minutes, to assess speed and accuracy in English typing.

Part III – Viva-Voce

Viva-Voce will carry 20 marks.

Stenographer (Higher Grade) Examination Structure

The selection for the post of Stenographer (Higher Grade) shall be made on merit, based on performance in the Shorthand Test, Typing Test and Viva-Voce.

Dictation of an English passage containing 500 words for jotting down dictation in 5 minutes and transcription thereof in 30 minutes, to assess speed and accuracy in shorthand.

Part II – Typing Test

A passage in English containing 400 words for typing in 10 minutes, to assess speed and accuracy in English typing.

Part III – Viva-Voce

Viva-Voce will carry 20 marks.

Driver Examination Structure

The selection process for the post of Driver consists of a Written Test, Experience Assessment, Motor Vehicle Test and Interview.
